Sherbourne House
Dorset's Sherbourne House was host to Charles Dickens in 1854, where he gave a well-known public reading of A Christmas Carol to support the estate's literary and scientific institution. Dickens also decorated a piece of screen furniture at the house, displayed at the Sherbourne Museum.
