Exams
St. Edward’s school uses the following exam boards for GCSE, GCE, BTEC and vocational examinations: AQA, EDEXCEL (Pearson), OCR, WJEC (Eduqas) and NCFE.
Summer 2023 exam timetables will be issued mid-March, following the Spring trial exams. Students are asked to ensure the information and personal details are correct. Timetables with rooming and seating will be issued following the Easter break. The timetables are a guide, and the exam boards can alter them if needed.
The exam contingency days, for which students are expected to be available for are the afternoons of Thursday 8th June and Thursday 15th June, as well as the full day of Wednesday 28th June.
Results day are:
GCE (A-Level) – Thursday 17th August 2023
GCSE – Thursday 24th August 2023
All students will receive their results by email to their school email address at approximately 8:30am on Thursday 17 August 2023 (A-Level) or Thursday 24 August 2023 (GCSE).
Students are also welcome to come into the school to collect their results in person. These will be available in the Humanities building from 10-11am for our A-Level Students and 9-10am for our GCSE students on the applicable day.
With the results certificate there will be a letter explaining what happens if there are any queries about the exam results or if a copy of an exam is required. This includes exam board specific information and fees, as shown in the tables below. If students are unsure of what the services mean and if they are required, please see the tabs below for this information.
Students need to complete the consent form, Form A for all services relating to a query and the Access to Scripts form, Form B if they would like a copy of the exam paper or script.
Please send this to Mrs Webster at exams@st-edwards.poole.sch.uk. The accompanying fee can be paid via wisepay or by BACS, which is detailed in the results day letter. Please ensure the payment has is referenced with the student’s name and exams, e.g. “A Webster Exams” Once the corresponding form and payment has been received, we will process the post-results request.
