We hosted our very own ‘Fringe Festival’ – a celebration of creativity with performances, workshops and displays across dance, drama, music, public speaking, English and Art.
The free event, which involved students from all parts of the school, was attended by hundreds of parents, family members and friends from the wider community.
The inaugural ‘Fringe Festival’ on October 4th 2024 saw more than 40 performances and sessions take place over two hours. These comprised public speaking pieces, music performances, including original pieces, dance groups, duos and trios, drama performances, including snippets from the school’s upcoming Peter Pan production, an alumni talk, and a movement workshop. Festival goers were able to choose from the jam-packed line up and move around the school campus to enjoy the different events.
Lauren Keene, Head of Performing Arts, who organised this event said:
“Our first ever Fringe Festival was a huge success and an incredible celebration of creativity in the St Edward’s community. We have an abundance of talent, intellectual curiosity and passion for performance among our students, and it was a great pleasure to be able to share this with parents and the wider community.
“So many family members and friends came together to support us and enjoy the evening’s performances – the feedback has been fantastic. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and enthusiasm and look forward to seeing this event grow in the years to come.”
