At St Edward’s, the OCR Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity course will equip you with the skills to enter one of the fastest growing industries in the UK. It offers a huge range of skills for a variety of different areas. This can be coaching at grass roots level to training the elite by using knowledge of technology, nutrition, sports psychology and sports science.

At St Edward's we offer both the Single award (Equivalent to 1 A-level) and the double award (equivalent to 2 A-levels).

Year 12:

  • Unit 1 - Body Systems: Exam 
  • Unit 2 - Sports Coaching: Portfolio 
  • Unit 3 - Sports Organisation and Development: exam 
  • Unit 4 - Working Safely Within Sport: Exam 
  • Unit 5 - Organisation of Sports Events: Portfolio 

Year 13:

  • Unit 17 - Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation: Portfolio 
  • Unit 18 - Practical Sports: Portfolio
  • Unit 8 - Performance Analysis in Sport and Exercise
  • Unit 11 - Physical Activity for Specific Groups: Portfolio 
  • Unit 13 - Health and Fitness for Sport and Exercise: Portfolio
  • Unit 19 - Sports and Exercise Psychology: Portfolio

Where can this take you?
